Doris Ingle - Biography

About the Artist

Doris found her passion for oil painting after retiring from teaching gifted/talented students for twenty three years. The years of teaching and encouraging students to develop their creativity must have finally manifested in her less stressful time in early retirement. After finding a teacher and spending several years practicing and studying oil painting, she had a studio built to accommodate her growing obsession. This in turn, led to hours each day spent in front of an easel.

Creating a landscape or a portrait that makes the viewer "feel" is the goal of Doris. The highest compliment she has received is tears in a parent's or grandparent's eyes when they view a portrait of their child that Doris has created. She loves to paint children at play and her own grandchildren are very much an inspiration.  Doris will accept commissions on portraits or landscapes.
